Bermuda Riding For The Disabled

Bermuda Riding for the Disabled (BRD) was formed in 1973 and provides therapeutic riding for special needs children in Bermuda. The BRD was given a permanent home in a purpose built Equestrian Centre as part of the WindReach Recreational Village in Warwick, Bermuda.

Although situated as part of the village, the BRD remains a separate organization from the WindReach Bermuda Trust. The BRD has its own Board of Directors and fundraises for the funds to run the program. The funds all come from public donations and at present the BRD does not charge the riders.

At present, the BRD has 5 horses and ponies, including 2 Fjord ponies and the use of another horse for the program. There are two paid members of staff and the rest of the work is done by volunteers.
